Is this a fit?

Produce professional voiceovers, audiobooks, podcast intros, ad reads, and IVR audio using AI voice tools like ElevenLabs and PlayHT

Skills to bring or develop

  • Audio Production
  • AI Voice Tools
  • Client Management
  • Basic Audio Editing

The starting sequence

  1. Master ElevenLabs and PlayHT voice cloning and generation
  2. Build portfolio with 5+ voice samples across formats
  3. Set up profiles on Fiverr and direct outreach channels
  4. Land first clients through authors and podcasters
  5. Scale with batch production and retainer packages

What the work involves

You're essentially a production house for audio — but instead of a studio full of voice actors, you're curating, directing, and polishing AI-generated voices to sound like something a real client would actually pay for. The craft here isn't in recording; it's in prompt refinement, audio cleanup, pacing edits, and knowing which AI voice fits which project. Clients don't care how you made it — they care that it sounds professional and arrives on time. That means you need a good ear, patience for revision rounds, and the ability to manage expectations when a client says 'make it sound more human.' You'll also need to get comfortable talking about licensing clearly, because AI voice rights are genuinely murky and clients will ask.

Write a client intake questionnaire for a new voiceover project
I run an AI voiceover and audiobook production service. Help me write a professional client intake questionnaire I can send to new clients before starting a project.

Include questions that cover:
1. Project type (audiobook, podcast intro, ad read, IVR/phone system, explainer video, etc.)
2. Estimated word count or script length
3. Tone and style (e.g., warm, authoritative, energetic, conversational)
4. Voice preference (gender, accent, age range)
5. Target audience
6. Deadline and turnaround expectations
7. File format needed (MP3, WAV, etc.) and any technical specs
8. Whether they have a finished script or need script help
9. Budget range
10. Any reference audio or competitor examples they like

Format it as a clean, professional form I can paste into a Google Form or email. Keep the language friendly and approachable — not corporate. Add a brief intro sentence explaining why each section matters.

Review requirements: Separate supplied facts from assumptions. Do not invent market data, customer results, testimonials, or source citations. Flag missing information and suggest a small validation test. Mark numerical examples as scenarios. Keep the final decision with me.
Generate a sales email for cold outreach to podcast producers and authors
I offer professional AI-assisted voiceover and audiobook production services. I want to cold email podcast producers and self-published authors to offer my services.

Write me 3 short cold email variants (under 120 words each) that:
- Open with something specific to their world (not generic)
- Clearly state what I do in one sentence
- Name a specific pain point I solve (e.g., expensive studio time, slow turnaround, inconsistent narration quality)
- Include a low-friction call to action (like a free sample or quick call)
- Sound like a real human, not a marketing bot

Variant 1: Target self-published authors converting their book to audio
Variant 2: Target podcast producers needing intros, ad reads, or episode narration
Variant 3: Target small businesses needing IVR/phone system audio or explainer video narration

Do NOT use phrases like 'I hope this email finds you well' or 'game-changer.' Keep it honest and direct.

Review requirements: Separate supplied facts from assumptions. Do not invent market data, customer results, testimonials, or source citations. Flag missing information and suggest a small validation test. Mark numerical examples as scenarios. Keep the final decision with me.
Create a pricing page and service menu for your AI voice business
Help me build a clear, honest pricing menu for my AI voiceover and audiobook production service. I use tools like ElevenLabs and PlayHT to produce professional audio.

Create a tiered service menu with 3 tiers. For each tier include:
- A short tier name (not cheesy — no 'Bronze/Silver/Gold')
- What's included (specific deliverables)
- Realistic turnaround time
- Price range (I'll fill in exact numbers, just give me the structure)
- Who it's best for

Also include:
- A per-word or per-minute rate option for audiobook clients
- A rush fee policy
- A revision policy (how many rounds are included)
- A note about file formats delivered

Format this so I can paste it directly into a Notion page, a simple website, or a PDF. Keep the language plain and specific. No vague promises about 'studio quality' unless I can actually deliver that.

Review requirements: Separate supplied facts from assumptions. Do not invent market data, customer results, testimonials, or source citations. Flag missing information and suggest a small validation test. Mark numerical examples as scenarios. Keep the final decision with me.
Write a quality control checklist for reviewing AI-generated audio before delivery
I produce AI voiceovers and audiobooks using ElevenLabs and PlayHT. Before I deliver any audio file to a client, I need a thorough quality control checklist to catch problems.

Write me a step-by-step QC checklist that covers:
1. Listening for unnatural pauses, mispronunciations, or robotic artifacts
2. Checking audio levels (loudness, peaks, noise floor — include target specs like -23 LUFS for broadcast or -16 LUFS for podcasts)
3. Verifying the script was read accurately (no skipped or added words)
4. Checking for background noise or encoding artifacts
5. Confirming the correct voice, tone, and pacing match the client brief
6. File format and naming convention check
7. Metadata tagging if needed (for audiobooks especially)
8. Final listen on headphones vs. speakers

Format it as a numbered checklist I can print or keep in Notion. Add a 'common AI voice artifact' tip next to any step where AI-generated audio is especially likely to fail.

Review requirements: Separate supplied facts from assumptions. Do not invent market data, customer results, testimonials, or source citations. Flag missing information and suggest a small validation test. Mark numerical examples as scenarios. Keep the final decision with me.

Problems to plan for

Use these playbook prompts to question your plan. Pricing, channels, and delivery models should be tested with your own customers.

Using a voice clone or licensed voice for commercial work without verifying the license tier

Before starting any paid project, confirm the specific voice you're using is licensed for commercial use on your current plan. Read the platform's commercial use policy page, not just the marketing copy. Keep a screenshot of the license terms for each voice you use regularly.

Delivering audio without a revision policy in writing

Put your revision policy in every proposal and invoice: '2 rounds of revisions included; additional rounds billed at $X per 15-minute audio segment.' Use a simple contract or even a clear email confirmation the client replies to.

Underpricing per-word audiobook rates without accounting for editing time

Time yourself on a 1,000-word test project from script to final file before quoting any audiobook client. Build your rate from your real hourly cost, not from what you've seen others charge online.

Not getting the final script in writing before starting production

Add a 'Script Approval' step to your intake process. Send the script back to the client for written sign-off (email is fine) before you start any audio generation. State clearly in your proposal that script changes after approval are billed as a new revision round.

Relying on a single AI voice platform with no backup

Maintain an active account on at least two platforms (e.g., ElevenLabs + PlayHT or Murf). Test your backup platform quarterly so you know how to use it under pressure. Build a 24-hour buffer into all deadlines.

Your first small test

  1. Choose one customer. Find five people who have the problem described in this guide.
  2. Show one useful sample. Ask about their current process, priorities, and objections.
  3. Offer a clearly scoped pilot. Agree on deliverables, a price to test, and what success means.
  4. Record the evidence. Track responses, costs, hours, and what the buyer actually used. Decide whether to continue, change, or pause.
